The toilet is seated on the floor where the classrooms of grade 5 and grade 6 are located. The menarche, or the first menstrual period, usually happens around age 12. The school doctors will assist girls who do not know how to deal with their menarches. The infirmary provides sanitary pads, disposable underwear, ginger tea, brown sugar, heating pads, and hot-water bottles to the girls.

The news became an instant hit on Weibo. UNESCO's official account also reposted the information with the comment: "The intimate care and comprehensive sex education help avoid growing pains."
