The 6th China Youth Entrepreneurship Competition(Internet group) concluded on Oct. 24. Hamu Tech from Zhejiang University won the champion of the competition for its underwater intelligent cleaning robot. The competition, as one of the group events of China Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, was unveiled in April and divided into three categories, the developing group, the newly-established group, and the innovation group. The organizing committee received a total of 7,105 projects, covering the areas of mobile internet, smart city, digital economy as well as internet technology and application. One hundred projects were shortlisted into the final. Hamu Tech is a group of ten people. During the investigation, the group found that marine organisms were easily attached to the offshore oil platforms and ships immersed in seawater for a long time, which seriously shortened the service life of devices and affected the safety of oil production platforms and shops. Thus the regular cleaning became necessary. However, the current manual cleaning was a danger for cleaners; the cleaning efficiency was low at a high cost. The underwater biological cleaning robot developed by Hamu Tech aims to achieve unmanned and automatic cleaning, making the cleaning operation more safe, efficient, reliable and energy-saving. At present, the fourth generation of the products is coming into use. |
