The raging heat waves hit Hangzhou last weekend, which reminded many Hangzhou citizens of those cool air-raid shelters opening during the summer.

Ten shelters opened free to citizens to enjoy the cool on July 1. On the first opening day, they ushered in a visiting wave of old friends. Another coat is suggested to take when taking cool in the shelters. Around 8 o'clock on July 1, Chan Jinzhu, living in Zhonganqiao, along with some of his elderly friends paid a visit to the Bolu Resort. "We come here every year to drink tea, and chat. It is quite pleasant." There were about 20 persons coming here to enjoy the cool, and most of them are the elderly.
