Hydrangeas, usually blooming from late May to early June, is now embracing the full-bloom period.

Hydrangea is a genus of 70–75 species of flowering plants native to Asia and the Americas and the greatest species diversity is seen in eastern Asia. They can be either deciduous or evergreen, though the widely cultivated temperate species are all deciduous.

A hydrangea exhibition kicked off on May 20 at Chengdong Park of Jianggan District as over 3,000 plants of more than 90 species are successively flourishing. This year the park has been upgraded, and the planting area has been extended to over 5,000㎡. The exhibition will last until June 5.

Another place for enjoying the hydrangeas is the Linping Park of Yuhang District, as over 90 species of the hydrangeas are growing in the park. The hydrangea exhibition will be held from May 20 to June 10.

Besides, the 7th hydrangea exhibition will be held from May 26 to July 1 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Chenghuang Pavilion. More than 10,000 plants of 80 species of hydrangea are growing in the scenic spot.

You may also run into the flowering hydrangeas at the West Lake Scenic Spots including Hangzhou Children’s Park, Breeze-ruffled Lotus at Quyuan Garden(曲院风荷), Jiangyanfan Ecology Park(江洋畈生态公园) and Huanglongdong(黄龙洞) Scenic area.
