Do you remember the amazing sea of rape flowers near the Tongjian Lake this spring? Located in Shuangpu Town, Xihu District, now the land by the Tongjian Lake has been filled with a profusion of Cosmos bipinnatus, commonly known as the garden cosmos. One-third of the flowers are in full bloom, and people keep coming for cycling, jogging, and taking photos. Tongjian Lake is formerly known as “Mingsheng Lake” in Local Chronicles of Qiantang written by Liu Daozhen who was the magistrate at Qiantang in A.D. 436.
