According to the report on water resources of Hangzhou in 2019, the annual average precipitation of the city was 1823.5mm, an 8.8% rise compared with 2018. The data showed that the rainfall in the whole year of 2019 is equivalent to the capacity of 2,090 West Lake. The volume of a West Lake is taken 14,480,000 cubic meters. Hangzhou is renowned as Watertown in Southeast China, the total water resource is rich while the amount of water per capita is minimal. In fact, people live in the city are experiencing moderate water stress. Additionally, Hangzhou Water Conservancy Museum opened on Saturday. The museum is located at the Sanbao drainage project, which is the first live-action project of a large-scale pump station for exhibition in Zhejiang. With the theme of "The Water and Hangzhou", the museum features six exhibitions detailing the geography and climate of the city and conservation projects in Hangzhou throughout history. The museum is free of charge for visitors with opening hours from 9:00 to 16:30 (only on Tuesdays and Thursdays), closed on National holiday and during flood seasons.
