Together with the top museums in China, the World Tourism Museum will be built as a world-class museum in Hangzhou. It will become a model for cultural and tourism integration in the new era and an important window for displaying Chinese and global cultural tourism.

In order to promote the integration of culture and tourism in Xiaoshan District and jointly build the World Tourism Museum, Xiaoshan District government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Palace Museum on November 26. 

By the end of next year, the World Tourism Museum will open to the public. The World Tourism Museum is being built to be the world's first multi-functional museum dedicated to tourism. The strategic cooperation agreement will improve the construction and operation of the museum. With the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, the headquarters of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA) is located in Xiaoshan, Hangzhou. The World Tourism Museum is located on the bank of the beautiful Xianghu lake.

The Palace Museum is a comprehensive museum based on the imperial palaces of the Ming and Qing dynasties, integrating buildings, collections and palace history and culture. The world tourism museum under construction fills the gap of the world comprehensive tourism museum and is the specific carrier to promote the deep integration of culture and tourism.

The Palace Museum and the Xiaoshan District government will seize this opportunity and carry out multi-channel, multi-level and multi-form communication and cooperation to promote cultural integration and mutual learning and to develop the cultural and tourism industries.
