The First Hangzhou International Photography Art Invitation Exhibition kicks off in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, on Jan 5. [Photo/zjol.com.cn] The First Hangzhou International Photography Art Invitation Exhibition opened in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, on Jan 5. Composed of documentary and art sections, the exhibition showcases a total of 130 photographic works produced by artists from China and overseas countries including the United States, Germany, Italy, Cyprus, Qatar, and Iraq. It aims to promote Hangzhou through photography and make it a new cultural card for the eastern Chinese city. While Hangzhou is in a historical period of "post-G20-Summit and pre-Asian-Games", it is hoped that the hosting of the international photo exhibition will not only facilitate cultural and art exchanges of the city but also propel Hangzhou's effort in building itself into an international city, according to an organizer of the event. The exhibition, open for free to the public, will last until Jan 10.
