Traditions have far accustomed many Hangzhou locals or even their provincial peers to putting up a New-year calendar or having a bowl of porridge by Lingyin Temple two days before the Lunar New Year. The Laba porridge in 2019 is still cooked on 6^th Jan. the same day as before, with the favor expected for over 30 thousand people.

Eleven years have seen free porridge providing since 2008 when the activity was restored for keeping the tradition.
