Focusing on biomedical treatment, the conference invited a gathering of experts and scholars in related industries to discuss how mass-spectrometric techniques may influence the future development of biological medical treatment. The system, widely applied in many different disciplines, is an analytical technique that ionizes chemical species and sorts the ions based on their mass-to-charge ratio. Though China is at the forefront of medical treatment, the application of mass-spectrometrics in clinical areas is underdeveloped, which leads to obstacles in related research projects, according to an expert. Shi Yigong, president of the university, hailed the technique as a useful tool in clinical medical treatment, the application of which will improve the scientific and research level of clinical care and shorten the R&D cycle in clinical diagnosis and treatment. As a pioneer in Chinese higher education reform, Westlake University is committed to basic advanced scientific research and strives for breakthroughs in innovation and scientific and technological achievements.
