Road accidents often happen when it is rainy or at night that the view of drivers is obstructed. Recently in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou, an intelligent device was settled at the intersection of Chongxue Road and Suoqian Road to tackle this problem.

As people are crossing the road, the intelligent device named Zhi’an Zhuang(智安桩) with the height less than 1 meter, will make 28 red rays shine on the shins of the pedestrians in 0.1 second to warn drivers that they should slow down.

The intersection of Chongxue Road and Suoqian Road is at the center of the town and close to schools, restaurants and supermarkets that always bring huge crowds. Now the intelligent device helps reduce the risk of traffic accidents.

“I was nervous about crossing the road here at night before, but now I feel much more reassured.” Mrs Zhao, who works in a nearby pharmacy says.

Xiaoshan is the first district in Zhejiang province to make use of the intelligent device Zhi’an Zhuang, and theintelligent transportation system here will keep improving in the future.
