On Nov. 8, Gu Binglin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS) received avillager certificate ofFuchun Academician Village at the opening ceremony of the 9thScience and Technology Talents Weekin Tonglu, Hangzhou.

"It is common to participate in academic forums, but this is the first timeto participate in the opening ceremony of an academician village, which is very special for me," said Gu.

22 academicians, including Gu, received thevillager certificationon that day.

The Fuchun Academician Village is located in theScience and Technology Cityof Fuchun Riverin Tonglu County.Zhang Ze, the academician of CAS, is the director of the village committee.

Two years ago, in the 7th Scientific and Technological Talents Week,Institute of Science and Innovative Materials of Zhejiang was established. As the President of this institute, Zhang Zeput forward the idea: of building an"academician village" in Tonglu. He hopedto explore new models for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and create a cluster ofresearch and development industries for high-level talents.

Over the past two years, the governmentof Tonglu Countyhas maintained close contact withZhang.The "Academician Village Committee" is now officially handed over to academicians and experts. Construction of academicians' exclusive office and accommodation space will also start at the end of this year.

"This dream of mine has come true. I hope more talents will come to Tonglu and fall in love with this warm place, just like me,"said Zhang, who was more than impressed by the efficiency of government and the thoughtfulness of talent service in Tonglu.

In the next step,Fuchun Academician Villagewill continue to implement the functions of decision-making, communication, key problem solving, talent training, entrepreneurial communication and so on, so as to provide more support for attracting and retaining talents.
