Overseas Chinese Elites Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Hangzhou·China) Summit concluded

The Overseas Chinese Elites Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summite 2020 kicked off on Oct.18 with a keynotefrom Liu Xin, Mayor of Hangzhou Municipal Government.

Liu Xin stated that the summit shall serve as a bridge to bring overseas Chinese elites together, in a bid to build on the existing efforts of overseas Chinese to promote the city and inspire new collaborations on this eco-friendly land.

The summit also provided an excellent opportunity for 300 attendees to discuss the latest developments within the fields.

Both Liu Xin and Lian Xiaomin, Secretary of Party Leadership Group and Chairman of Zhejiang Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese agreed on the importance of overseas Chinese in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in Zhejiang.

“It is hoped that overseas Chinese will be further dedicated to pushing the business and trade in Zhejiang tonew heights, and filling up Zhejiang's talent pool, where the entrepreneurial dreams can come true here, and where resource accumulation can be made via economic platforms and ties such as 'Venture China'.” said Lian in his keynote.

The opening ceremony of the Summit ushered in many other activities, such as a licensing ceremony for naming Zijingang as the “national innovative &entrepreneurial base”, an award ceremony to recognize Hangzhou for its contribution in “ten glorious years of China’s entrepreneurship”, and a founding ceremony of the League of Overseas Chinese in the Yangtze River Delta City Group.

The summit also saw the signing of 19 projects, with a total investment of 11.642 billion yuan and an intended business line of credit of 7.45 billion yuan.

A special roadshow session was highlighted on Oct.19. A total of 6 quasi-unicorns in the fields of bio-medicine, AI and big data, industrial robots, etc. were invited to promote their projects, some of which have drummed up interest among investors on site.
