The 2020 Hangzhou Global Qipao Festival will be held from Oct 16 to Nov 11. During the festival, a series of activities will be hosted in the city.

The cheongsam, also known as the qipao, is a feminine body-hugging dress with distinctive Chinese features of Manchu origin. It was known as the mandarin gown during the 1920s and 1930s, popularized by Chinese socialites and upper-class women in Shanghai.

The Hangzhou Qipao Festival has been held for four consecutive years.

A photo-shooting tour kicks off on Oct 16 at Beishan Street, which is hailed as a museum without walls with an array of classic buildings, such as West Lake Expo Museum, Baopu Villa, and The New Hotel.

During the festival, merchants alongside Beishan Street will release cultural tourism experience products, inviting qipao enthusiasts to enjoy the charming qipao culture and West Lake scenery.

The organizer will also launch promotions and interactive activities across the city for visitors who are wearing qipao.
