How to carry out community prevention and control? How can general practitioners play roles in community prevention and control?

The reference book on community prevention and control of infectious diseases "COVID-19 -Community Prevention and Control" was checked by Li Lanjuan, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Liang Tingbo, secretary of the party committee of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, and edited by Ren Qingqing, director of the department of general medicine, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University. The first print run of this new book, by 30 related experts, has sold out.

Reviewing the entire process of creation, Ren Jingjing filled with emotion.

"After accepting the task of compiling the book on Jan.27, we promptly contacted the editorial committees of the relevant institutions, such as universities, general hospitals, community health service centers, provincial Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the State Key Laboratory for the Diagnosis & Treatment of Infectious Diseases, to form an editorial committee.

Although the editorial committee experts were distributed in Hubei, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Beijing, Heilongjiang and other provinces of the country due to the anti-pandemic war, everyone convened a remote editorial committee meeting every day to brainstorm and even discuss the contents of this book all night.

Ren Jingjing said that during the most critical and urgent period for the prevention, control, and treatment of the pandemic, academician Li Lanjuan and Secretary Liang Tingbo, the two chief inspectors, also attached great importance to the writing process, and responded immediately to various matters relating to manuscripts, and repeatedly stressed the need to fully highlight the professional, normative and practical.

After dozens of versions, "COVID-19 -Community Prevention and Control" finally came out. 

"We are like a group of soldiers, with science as the sword and faith as the shield, racing against time and fighting against the pandemic! To prevent and control this outbreak scientifically, to win this battle, We have run out of our wisdom, " Ren Yingying said.
