On August 19, the logo of Hangzhou Green Way was officially released. Based on the stretched lotus leaf image, the logo changes the Chinese character "Hang" into lotus leaf veins, which is similar to the green path network in Hangzhou, connecting the beautiful life of the city with the poetic and artistic meaning.

All green path in Hangzhou will be covered with their own official symbols

Since March this year, led by the municipal construction commission, Logo contestHangzhou Green Way was launched with awards, and received a total of more than 580 entries from Shandong, Guangxi, Hunan and other parts of the country. Most of the submitted works are inspired by elements such as Three Ponds Mirroring the Moon, broken bridge and Leifeng Tower. Based upon experts’appraisal and votes from citizens votes, designer Xiao Wenjun's work was finally selected as the official symbol of Hangzhou Green Way.

Why does he choose lotus leaf image as Hangzhou green path logo design basis?

Xiao Wenjun said that when he looked up the data of Hangzhou through internet, he noticed that the lotus flowers and leaves appear frequently and the lotus leaves' veins are like a crisscross network of green path.

In creation, landscape elements of Hangzhou were also taken into account by Xiao Wenjun. Through the deformation of Chinese character “Hang” and elements of runners and animals, the logo enriches its connotation and showes more humanistic care as well as the concept of ecological environment protection.
