Madame Pan luckily became the first who got E-passport in Zhejiang.

The official use of electronic ordinary passport started on May 15th. Till 16 o'clock on May 15th, 4131 handled applications, in which 1069 from people in Hangzhou, were received in Zhejiang Immigration Authorities. There isn't any difference with the old one speaking of its appearance, but the production technology and the anti-counterfeiting technology are more advanced.

The major difference is the insert of chip label on its cover. The real chip, which contains the passport holder's identity information, photographs and fingerprintsis, inlaid in the inside back cover. Also, the signature laser was added on the information page.
