Officially approved by the Ministry of Education to open, Westlake University has become a milestone in China’s course of building new type of non-profit research-oriented universities.

Westlake University will be a new type of nonprofit organization for advanced academic research which is launched by social funds and specially supported by the government. The university will recruit academically accomplished senior professors and promising early career scientists. By far it has conducted six worldwide searches and recruited 58 faculty members.
