It is a good news for the sport funs in the east of Hangzhou: groundbreaking begins today on the project of New Dingqiao City Gymnasium and the project will be completed around 2017 after about 2 years’ construction.

    New Dingqiao City Gymnasium, which is mostly a natatorium, is a one-floor underground structure of 5.3 m in depth and contains a standard 50×21 m swimming pool with 8 lanes. In daily use, the swimming pool is partitioned into a deep-water zone (1.5 m) and a shallow zone. For competition, the partition is removed to form a complete swimming zone with 8 lanes. Full-function lifeguard room and infirmary etc. are set up beside the pool.
