Top Jingshan Tea Priced at 258,880 Yuan a Kilo

The Golden Tea King stood out at an online auction of the 8th Jinshan Tea(径山茶) Awards on last Saturday. This year's Golden Tea King goes to Jing Shan Mao Feng, also known as Jing Shan Buddhist Tea, produced from Yiwei Tea Factory, Jingshan Town in Hangzhou's Yuhang District. The final sale price was auctioned at CNY 258,880 per kilogram.

Jing Shan Mao Feng features long, elegantly twisted leaves, good flavors, aromatics of fragrant wild greens and a hint of mild floral notes.

Jingshan tea is grown on Jingshan Hill in Hangzhou. Also a kind of green tea, it became famous in the Tang Dynasty. So far, covering 10,750 acres around Yuhang District, the output of tea garden has reached more than 8,000 tons with a value of nearly CNY 900 million yuan.
