Located in Jiande, a county-level city in Hangzhou, the unique environment of the aviation town attracts tourists and aviation enthusiasts. As the only manufacturing, sales and delivery center of the KODIAK 100 Series II airplane, the first model was delivered in the town in December. Meanwhile, the expansion project of Jiande Qiandao Lake General Airport, the first general airport to obtain the civil airport license in Zhejiang, is in full swing. There will be a stronger demand at the airport with more manufacturing enterprises settling in the town in the future, said a local official, adding that despite the 800-meter runway at the airport that can now accommodate some small and medium-sized planes, the town needs to take a long-term view. Since its establishment in 2016, Jiande Aviation Town has introduced 45 projects with a total investment of 19.7 billion yuan ($2.86 billion). In 2017, the town was listed among the second batch of characteristic towns in China. Earlier this month, it was listed as a national 4A tourist attraction.
