On April 2nd, Zhang Yong, CEO of Alibaba, announced in an internal staff mail that the AliExpress business was to be acted by Dai Shan, one of the group partners and President of the B2B business of the company. In the mail, the CEO pointed out AliExpress played a vitally important role in Alibaba’s globalization strategy and thus more investment would be put into this area. According to the financial report, the fourth quarter of 2017 has witnessed a revenue of RMB 4 billion and 733 million yuan in Ali’s cross-border and international retail business represented by AliExpress and Lazada, a 93% year-on-year growth, which is an eye-catching achievement. |
