The vice-president of the International Olympic Committee paid a special visit to the Hangzhou Asian Games Museum on Wednesday. He presented a miniature version of the iconic Millennium Gate sculpture, a replica of the one in front of the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, regarded as a symbol of peace, understanding and prosperity. At the ceremony, the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee returned a commemorative plate to the Samaranch Foundation and invited the IOC vice president to visit the Hangzhou Asian Games Museum. In 2000, the IOC gifted similar sculptures to its members and Heads of State.
