Officials from Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, held a conference on Jan 9 to discuss the preparation of the approaching 19th Asian Games and 4th Asian Para Games.
Liu Jie, Party secretary of Hangzhou, chaired the conference and delivered a keynote speech.
Liu urged all parties to ensure coordinated, orderly and efficient preparations for the major events. He said that Hangzhou should place special focus on two time periods - the end of May and the end of August, which mark the 100-day and 10-day countdowns to the Games respectively.
Liu also stressed the utilization of digital technologies in the preparations for the Games as they can help achieve real-time monitoring of every preparation process, as well as send early warnings and help make decisions if needed.
Liu encouraged all parties to strive to maximize the promotional effect of the Asian Games by taking advantage of various online promotional platforms and seeking more innovations.
