The hockey field is designed to resemble an oiled paper umbrella and is the only newly-built stadium for the Games in downtown Hangzhou. Looking like a paper umbrella of ancient China, the stadium is also called Hangzhou Umbrella. The venue has 4,870 seats for audiences and is capable of holding competitions, education courses and social activities of all kinds.
