The first Huigang Ancient Village Cartoon and Art Festival will be held in Huigang village, Tonglu, a county-level city in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, from April 30 to May 30, according to an announcement made at a press conference for the festival held on April 22.
Huigang is a village with more than 1,300 years of history. The cartoon and art festival will add more cultural diversity to the ancient village.
The festival will introduce the IP of well-known cartoons and display art works created by Chinese new-generation artists. Many famous art brands and designs will also be showcased at the event.
Recognized as a provincial-level village for intangible cultural heritage and customs, Huigang boasts well-preserved architecture dating back to the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.
Visitors can take the Hangzhou-Huangshan High-Speed Railway and get off at Tonglu Station. They can then take a bus for half an hour to get to Huigang village.
