Usually compared to a Disneyland by Hangzhou locals, the amusement park of Hangzhou Youth & Children's Center has proved to be one of the most popular spots by the West Lake.

"There were two rides in the center when I came to work here in 1987," said Mrs. Hu, who works there. The construction of the park was completed in 1990 and soon became the hottest amusement park in the city. "Children would queue up until sunset," Hu added.

Now there are over a dozen of carnival games in the park. When it was first open, each ride charged 0.1 yuan per person. But now, the highest ticket price is 5 yuan. "This amusement park is full of the childhood memories of my generation," said a young mother who visited with her child.

Before you try out every ride, you need to apply for a pass card at the service center once you get there. The minimum recharge amount is 50 yuan, including a 10-yuan deposit.

As one of the best loved rides, the mini Ferris wheel in the center of the park offers a panoramic view of the West Lake.

Transportation:

Public transportation is recommended due to the limited number of parking lots.

A special bus route that links the F gate of Fengqi Road Metro Station and the north gate of Hangzhou Youth & Children's Center has recently opened. The first bus departs from Hangzhou Youth & Children's Center at 8:10, and the last one leaves at 18:00. As for the reverse route, the first bus departs from the Fengqi Road Metro Station at 8:00, and the last at 17:55. Besides, busses No.6, No.7, No.16, No. 27, No.78, and No.118 also stop at the Children's Place(少年宫) Station.
