Hangzhou starts lowering down the parking fees in scenic areas during weekends as the city is entering its low tourism season. From this month, parking fees for roadside parking will be 10 yuan per hour from 8 am to 8 pm and 5 yuan between 8 pm and 8 am.

Basically, during the peak tourism season in Hangzhou, March 15 to May 31, September 15 to November 30 and public holidays, you have to pay 20 yuan per hour for parking within the West Lake Scenic Spots Area. On the National Day holiday and the Spring Festival holiday, cars will be charged 30 yuan per hour yet you can hardly find a parking lot.
