Neolithic culture showcases 6,000 years of history

An archaeological exhibition featuring prehistoric ancient ruins dating back to around 6,000 years ago opened in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, on March 10.

The exhibition, jointly held by the Banpo Museum in Xi'an, Shanxi province and the Kuahuqiao Site Museum in Xiaoshan district of Hangzhou, displays a total of 71 artifacts from the archaeological site of Banpo, which is located in Xi'an, to show the folk culture and social activities of human beings along the Yellow River basin in the Neolithic Age about 6000 years ago.

Highlights of the show include a great deal of painted potteries. Much of the pottery of plates, pots, earthen bowls, features mystic and various drawings of the time.

The exhibition runs through May 7.
