Hangzhou has launched 36 customized passenger transport routes connecting transport hubs, urban areas, rural communities, and tourist attractions to support travel, commuting, medical visits, study tours, and rural development, generating more than 18.8 million yuan ($2.81 million) in local economic benefits.
A popular option is a Hangchuan route package priced at 139 yuan that covers transport, accommodation, and meals. A direct shuttle from Hangzhou East Railway Station to Jingshan town has also expanded to serve Shaoxing and Binjiang and Linping districts, generating nearly 1.2 million yuan in economic benefits this year.
Hangzhou has introduced a five-part initiative to improve these services through operating standards, a convenient network of stops, data-driven demand analysis, an intelligent support platform, and routes tailored to popular travel needs.
The city has also launched China's first intercity travel heat map that helps operators identify demand and plan routes by analyzing travel volumes, timing, destinations, and purposes.
Hangzhou has identified 91 convenient boarding points across universities, tourist attractions, shopping districts, and hospitals, including 54 directly accessible from metro stations.
