Ten game and digital culture companies from Zhejiang province showcased their latest products and technologies from Aug 26 to 28 at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, highlighting the province's growing digital cultural exports.
The 101.5-square-meter Zhejiang Pavilion featured online, mobile, and PC games, AR/VR products, and 3D animation. Exhibitors included NetEase Thunder Fire, NetEase (Hangzhou) Network, Chenhuan Xinghe (Hangzhou) Cultural Technology, as well as independent developers and digital content companies from Hangzhou and Quzhou.
NetEase Thunder Fire presented Planet Party Time, which combines life simulation with party gameplay. NetEase (Hangzhou) Network showcased the overseas version of its open-world wuxia(martial arts) MMORPG Sword of Justice, which incorporates elements of Song Dynasty (960-1279) culture and Zhejiang's traditional arts.
Another highlight was Ananta, an open-world title developed by a NetEase Thunder Fire studio and scheduled for global release on Jan 15, 2027. Inspired by Hangzhou and Shanghai, the game features elements including West Lake and Longjing tea plantations. Global preorders have surpassed 10 million.
Other Zhejiang exhibitors presented a sci-fi RPG, large-scale war games, a historical shooting title, game engines, and cross-border payment services.
Gamescom 2026 covered 233,000 square meters and attracted more than 1,600 exhibitors from 67 countries and regions. The Zhejiang Pavilion also hosted business meetings with overseas companies, seeking cooperation in game publishing, technology, and related services.
