The inaugural Sino-French Fashion Design Graduate Runway Show was held at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University's Linping Campus on May 11, marking a milestone for the university's international fashion education program.
The event showcased the graduation collections of 16 students from the 2026 class of the Zhejiang Sci-Tech University-Marangoni Fashion Design Institute. A total of 60 original looks were presented, highlighting the fusion of Chinese and European design philosophies.
Guests attending the show included representatives from the French Consulate General in Shanghai, executives from Italy's Istituto Marangoni, industry leaders, government officials, and university representatives.
The collections reflected the institute's distinctive teaching approach, combining international fashion education with Chinese cultural elements, academic research, and industry-oriented training.
Students explored traditional craftsmanship, contemporary aesthetics, and advanced garment-making techniques while producing complete design portfolios and bilingual research papers.
Faculty members said the program emphasizes advanced ready-to-wear design, aiming to prepare graduates for the rapidly evolving global fashion industry through a balance of creativity, technical expertise, and practical application.
