As China's annual Two Sessions approach, Lei Qunfang, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and researcher at Zhejiang University, said she feels a strong sense of responsibility in the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–30).

This year, Lei is focusing on the cultivation of high-level skilled talent. Drawing on field research, she said she has explored ways to improve connectivity between vocational education and general higher education to create smoother pathways for talent development, with the goal of providing policy references for decision-makers.

Since taking office, Lei has submitted more than a dozen proposals, several of which have received positive responses from relevant authorities. Last year, her proposal on advancing the national Charity China information platform was designated a key CPPCC proposal. She also spoke at a CPPCC biweekly consultative meeting, calling for unified data standards in the charity sector and the establishment of a national data center to enhance transparency and digital governance.

"CPPCC members shoulder the mission of reflecting public opinion and offering policy advice," Lei said. "I will continue to bring grassroots voices to Beijing and fulfill my responsibilities with dedication."
