Hangzhou time-honored brands explore how to tell new stories at GDTE

On July 25, the owners of 20 Hangzhou time-honored brands including Wangxingji, Yaoshengji and Fanghuichuntang, gathered at Hangzhou Citizen Center, to discuss how to depend on the fourth Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE) to rejuvenate the century-old brands with digital technology.

At the symposium, the entrepreneurs share the remarkable innovations of the previous events. For example, Wangxingji embeds NFC chips into fan ribs to link Hangzhou’s transport and tourism. Zhejiang Provincial Museum integrates the 3D version of Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains into popular games, to promote the spread of intangible cultural heritages. Technologies, such as VR, AR and AI printing, enhance the appeal of intangible cultural heritages.

Attendees consider that, GDTE is not only a sales platform, but also an important stage for conveying cultural value and building global trust. Hangzhou time-honored brands that embrace digital technology can break through traditional limitations to achieve “culture going global”.
