On May 24, Zhejiang University donated a precious painting collection A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings to Florence Academy of Fine Arts (Italy) reputed as the "mother of art academies".

Yin Qi, the consul general of the People's Republic ofChinain Firenze, said, the collectionis the vivid embodiment of mutual respect and harmony between Chinese and Italian cultures.

The collection is compiled by Zhejiang University and Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau, with 226 books involved in 60 volumes. The ancient Chinese paintings all over the world are repaired with digital technologies. Since 2012, it has been donated to about 240 institutions such as British Library and UNESCO, becoming a bridge for communication between Chinese civilization and world civilization.
