A few days ago, Hangzhou released 2024 Hangzhou Statistical Bulletin on Service for the Aged. According to the published data, as of the end of 2024, the elderly population aged above 60 in the city reached 2,272,700, accounting for 25.92 percent of the total population.

Hangzhou continues to promote the integration of medical and elderly care resources, striving to provide elderly people with better health services. According to the statistics, Hangzhou has built 84 medical treatment & nursing institutions, 237 elderly care institutions, 2,390 elderly canteens, and 384 friendly medical institutions for the aged. The number of participants in elderly universities is 135,500. More than 190,000 elderly people attend the art & sports organizations for the aged.
