In order to improve the management and protection efficiency of natural resources, in the mountain forest reserve, Shangcheng District of Hangzhou introduces the "air & ground scouts"composed of robot dogs and drones, to assist forest rangers in carrying out patrol work.

Robot dogs can carry fire equipment, while drones can go deep into dangerous areas to monitor tree growth, forestry diseases and insect pests, use of open flame in forest areas, etc. The patrol data will automatically generate the reports. Through the platform, the public security, comprehensive law enforcement and other departments can quickly deal with related issues.

This innovative measure shares the workload of forest rangers, and provides the sci-tech support for the management and protection of natural resources, to contribute “Hangzhou experience” to the protection of natural resources all over the country.
