On February 18, XAI, the AI company under the management of MUSK, released Grok 3 reasoning model. Yuhuai (Tony) Wu was the top student born in Hangzhou after 1995, and stayed in the central position during the press conference.

Wu was born in Jiande, Hangzhou, graduating from the University of Toronto. He was the student of Geoffrey Hinton, the godfather of deep learning. After graduation, he was an intern of Google DeepMind and OpenAI.

Wu said,"I am determined to create the AI mathematician that is good at reasoning, and use it to solve all the difficult problems in mathematics."

There are five Chinese people among twelve co-founders of XAI. Jimmy Ba is Yuhuai (Tony) Wu’s mentor. Guodong Zhang is DeepSeek founder’s schoolmate in Zhejiang University.

Netizens commented, MUSK also needs to recruit AI talents from Hangzhou.
