Hangzhou New Energy Vehicle Service Co reported on Dec 8 that its annual EV charging volume exceeded 2 billion kilowatt-hours for the first time, a 22-percent increase from last year.
The company operates 510 public charging stations, producing 1.02 billion kWh—22.24 percent higher than last year— and cementing its role as the primary driver of growth. Meanwhile, its 41 highway charging stations saw a 71.34-percent increase to 18.78 million kWh.
This success reflects the city's accelerating shift toward green mobility. By implementing targeted pricing adjustments, upgrading equipment, enhancing community engagement, and promoting effective site management, the company increased single-station output, earning its position as the leading EV charging provider in Hangzhou and across Zhejiang province.
Reliability and user-friendly facilities have also been key. The company upgraded 680 aging charging guns across 640 stations to ensure safety and efficiency. These efforts earned the company top ratings for EV infrastructure operations in Hangzhou for 2024 and accolades for nine model stations.
But it is about more than just numbers for the company - it is fostering a greener, more accessible charging ecosystem. Initiatives include 100 percent green electricity for its chargers via renewable energy certificates, a pilot project in Gongshu district offering affordable EV charging in older residential areas, and the launch of Zhejiang's largest TOD-integrated bus charging facility, serving over 270 electric buses.
Through these innovative measures, Hangzhou's EV charging network is setting benchmarks for sustainable and user-friendly urban mobility.
