Black Myth: Wukong, developed by Hangzhou-based Game Science, clinched two honors at The Game Awards (TGA) 2024 on Dec 13, solidifying its place on the global stage.
The highly anticipated title won the "Best Action Game" award and the coveted "Player's Voice" award, with the latter decided entirely through public voting. These accolades highlight the game's exceptional quality and widespread popularity among gamers worldwide.
TGA, often dubbed the "Oscars of Gaming", is one of the most influential award ceremonies in the gaming industry. Hosted by giants like Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo, the annual event celebrates the best in gaming. Since its inception in 2014, TGA has been recognized as the pinnacle of achievement, with its Game of the Year award regarded as the industry's highest honor.
During its acceptance speech, the Game Science team said: "We are truly honored to receive this award! Thanks to every player whose support has brought this tale of courage and wisdom from Eastern mythology to such a grand stage."
The game was also nominated for several other categories, including Game of the Year, Best Art Direction, and Best Game Direction.
The double win at TGA marks a milestone for Chinese game development, further establishing Black Myth: Wukong as a standout in the global gaming arena.
