The 2024 BWF World Tour Finals will kick off at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center in Xiaoshan district from Dec 11 to 15. This premier event, boasting a prize pool of $2.5 million, will bring together the world's top badminton players.
The World Tour Finals represent the highest tier in the BWF's tournament structure and were also held in Hangzhou last year. This year's finals will feature the top eight players or pairs from each category (men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles), with Olympic gold medalists earning automatic entries. Each association can enter a maximum of two players or pairs per event.
For China, top-ranked Shi Yuqi will compete in the men's singles, with Wang Zhiyi and Han Yue representing the women's singles. In the men's doubles, He Jiting and Ren Xiangyu will participate, and Paris silver medalists Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang are also aiming to qualify. Olympic champions Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan will headline the women's doubles, joined by Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning, while Olympic champions Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong and Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin will compete in the mixed doubles.
Olympic singles champions Viktor Axelsen and An Se-young will also make an appearance.
A press conference on Nov 6 will reveal the event mascot, slogan, and ticketing information as part of an unforgettable badminton experience for fans.
