Last weekend, Wind Valley in Changhua, Lin'an, hosted "Wild Hangzhou: Go Camping 2024." This vibrant gathering seamlessly combined the tranquility of nature with exciting outdoor activities. From calming practices like Baduanjin and yoga to adrenaline-pumping sports like paddleboarding and cycling, there was something for everyone. The event also featured pet-friendly games, live music, outdoor movies, karaoke, and a spectacular fireworks display.
Afternoon and evening entertainment included captivating performances by paddleboarders, live music by The Forest of Musical Monsters, dazzling Datiehua shows (a traditional performance of splashing molten metal to produce brilliant showers of sparks), and elegant swing dance performances from the DCP dance troupe. Visitors were also treated to breathtaking flight stunts by delta-wing aircrafts and a sneak peek into the future with the EH216-S, the world's first pilotless passenger-carrying aircraft to receive an Airworthiness Certificate.
As part of its commitment to boosting outdoor economy, the Wind Valley Scenic Area has introduced a series of camping activities. By shifting its focus from attracting visitors to fostering longer stays with the help of the Reception Center, the scenic area has seen remarkable revenue growth. During this year's National Day holiday, tourist arrivals increased by 66.77% compared to last year, reaching 41,000, and revenue surged by 84.99% to 4.423 million yuan.
Changhua Town has developed three plans centered around the Wind Valley Scenic Area and the 8300 Outdoor Sports Center: the Rural Economy Common Prosperity Zone, Qingliang Medicine Valley which integrates agriculture and cultural tourism, and "520" Outdoor Sport-Themed Tour Route. The town also plans to establish the Houying Comprehensive Experience Center, the Chaodong Tangchang Common Prosperity Market, and the Wuyue Star Stage. These projects are expected to drive economic growth in the surrounding villages and the entire region.
