The Global Mayors Dialogue, a forum focused on urban governance and sustainable development, will be held in Hangzhou, the capital of east China's Zhejiang Province, on Wednesday.

Mayors or their representatives from 24 cities in 15 countries and regions, along with representatives of diplomatic envoys to China and relevant domestic departments, will gather at the forum to share their experiences in urban governance and explore innovative practices for sustainable development.

As hubs of economic, cultural and technological advancement, cities have drawn global attention for their governance and commitment to sustainable development.

Hangzhou, home to three UNESCO World Heritage sites – the West Lake Cultural Landscape, the Grand Canal, and the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City – boasts a rich cultural heritage, a booming digital economy, a sound business environment, and a history of international exchange. The city currently has 31 international sister cities and has established friendly relations with 42 foreign cities.

The forum will showcase the achievements of Chinese and foreign cities in innovative governance systems, digital economic development, ecological environment protection, and cultural inheritance and development, offering insights for the future of urban centers worldwide.

Two parallel sub-forums will be held under the themes of "Integration of Cities and Digital Reality" and "Cities and Green Development," where representatives and experts will engage in in-depth discussions on the future of urban development.
