My childhood was tough, marked by relentless bullying due to my weight and perceived weakness. But everything changed in 2007 when I took my first karate class. What began as a defense mechanism quickly evolved into a passion for martial arts. Karate taught me perseverance, self-discipline, and respect, transforming me both physically and mentally.

As I advanced, I explored other martial arts, including wushu, capoeira, kyokushin, and kick-jutsu. Each discipline enriched my understanding and resilience. The journey was challenging, but with each obstacle, I discovered my true strength. Martial arts empowered me, boosting my self-confidence and sense of purpose. They taught me that anyone, regardless of past struggles or perceived weaknesses, has the potential to overcome challenges and achieve greatness.

Recently, I graduated from Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, where I served as the sports captain of the International Students Union. I organized sports events and taught karate, receiving requests for private lessons from both kids and adults. For three years, I taught in Hangzhou, initially handling two classes a week, though now reduced to one due to the heat. My 15 students have been a joy, and I’m excited about the next chapter in my journey.

I’m now moving to Beijing to pursue a graduate degree at the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Although it saddens me to leave my students and friends in Hangzhou, I’m thrilled to share martial arts with new faces. My WeChat karate group, “Kick-Jutsu,” will continue as a dedication to martial arts enthusiasts.
