August 15 is the second National Ecology Day. To celebrate it, the Green Month series inaugurated at Intime (Qingchun) calls for the public joining the “Intime Green Life Shopping Season” and “Intime 21-day Green Life Clock-in”. The event series aim to strengthen the public awareness of saving our environment and the best practices on it.
An initiative to the public was unveiled by local schools and companies to advocate wider attention to the planet’s future. Huang Junru, deputy secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee of the College of Environmental & Resource Sciences of Zhejiang University, said that the priority has been given to both theories and practices in her college. The college’s Green Council “Lvzhiyuan” was a winner of the UN’s PRME prize. “We will continue the best practice in environmental education,” said he.
Zhu Yanhua, deputy general manager of Everbright Environment (Fuyang), mentioned that her company is Everbright’s ninth environmental project in Zhejiang, able to provide 180 million KWT per year. The company is also a site for public education. Some 7,000 residents have been to her company to get a hang of how their lives are made better with the clean energy and how much it is important to our environment.
Aside from real-time activities, the Green Lifestyle Month is also staged online. For a time from August 15 to 18, both Intime (Qingchun) and Intime (West Lake) launched a campaign that encourages people to recycle empty bottles, exchange cash from abandoned clothes, not to waste food, and not to use disposable cups. Customers doing so will be granted vouchers of Intime and its partner stores and are entitled to collect stamps worth up to 100 yuan. The app City Link also launched a hit talk for living a 21-day green life from August 15 to September 10, calling users to share tips and everyday green moments to win gifts and rewards.
