The class on August 20 in the summertime eco-study series, hosted by Zhalongkou Subdistrict, was given by insect experts. They guided students through the greening along the Grand Canal, where the latter learned to seek, identify, and observe various insects, understanding the roles they play in the ecosystem and experiencing the biodiversity of mother nature. They also helped students made specimens from naturally deceased insects, which provided them with a better understanding of insect morphology and sparking their interest in biological sciences.
