Artificial Intelligence Act (EU) has come into force recently. This is the world's first regulation on artificial intelligence.
Based on the potential impact of AI systems on users and society, the regulation categorizes AI risks into four levels, including prohibited, high, limited and minimum risks, and defines different regulatory requirements and compliance standards for each risk. The higher the risk level is, the stricter the control is.
The act specifies that, for enterprises that violate the related regulations, the European Union will impose a maximum fine of 7 percent of the annual turnover or 35 million euros (whichever is higher).
