On August 6, Hangzhou's duo, Chen Yule and Yu Shimeng advanced to semi-finals of the women's kayak double 500m at Paris Olympic Games as they ranked second at the preliminary.

These two girls have an edge in kayak. In April this year, they seized gold medal at the Asian Canoe Sprint Championships, securing a spot for Paris Olympic Games. Chen Yule from Hangzhou's Xiaoshan District is the youngest player in China's canoe team at Paris Olympic Games. Her teammate Yu Shimeng from Hangzhou's Tonglu County won multiple gold medals at the National Championships.

On August 9, they will compete in the semi-finals.
