The Digital Cooperation Promotion Conference of South and Southeast Asia concluded in Kunming on July 24. More than 500 delegates from 12 countries attended, focusing on deepening international cooperation in cyberspace. They proposed ideas on digital policy cooperation, digital infrastructure and digital economy.
In recent years, the development of digital economy has achieved remarkable results in South and Southeast Asia. The digital economy has become the key driving force for economic growth.
The deputy minister of Laos Ministry of Technology and Communication reckoned that China provides Laos with opportunities to learn digital technology and digital governance and conduct digital cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Two countries aim to further enhance cooperation.
The permanent secretary of Sri Lanka Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Food Security stated that China had offered the training opportunities for digital talents to Sri Lanka. He looked forward to cooperating with China in fields including digital trade.
Several collaborative initiatives were launched at the conference. And many projects including Digital Cooperation Promotion Center of South and Southeast Asia were started.
