The Ministry of Commerce recently announced the national situation regarding foreign investment promotion. Hangzhou bucks the trend. The actual foreign investment is 4.66 billion US dollars, with a year-on-year increase of 3.9 percent, ranking second in China, next to Shanghai. The manufacturing industry accounts for over 62 percent.

Moreover, the top three cities in China are respectively Shanghai, Hangzhou and Suzhou, all located in the Yangtze River Delta Region.
